The 'Human Rights abuses section has been blatantly distorted to redundantly mention militant incidents. A single line mentions abuses by the army, followed by an awkward and poorly worded justification ("though many court cases have been done on this").

Typically 'human rights violations' are charged against the authorities, not the rebellion- this is a misuse of terminology. This section ought to be rewritten entirely. Hi @Kautilya3. In the lead, it is mentioned that "Democratic development was limited in Kashmir until the late 1970s, and by 1988, many of the democratic reforms provided by the Indian government had been reversed, and non-violent channels for expressing discontent were limited, which caused a dramatic increase in support for insurgents advocating violent secession from India." Should we not mention that the root cause was Article 370? Kashmiris even today are supporting it with open arms and want 370 back, for example, Engineer Rashid won. We can find many reliable as well as academic sources attributing Article 370 to all these issues. So either Kashmiris do not know that most of their past woes regarding reforms etc. were mainly because of 370 or this reason given for insurgency is just not true.

One more line is problematic: "Although the failure of Indian governance and democracy lay at the root of the initial disaffection." This statement is false. Which Muslim-majority area has ever fought with anyone over the base reason of "democracy is bad"? It was always about religion. Religion was the prime factor then, and it is the prime factor now. Other factors can contribute and should be termed as secondary causes. The primary cause should not be whitewashed. You will also find many sources supporting this.
